ART SHOWS ALL SUMMER

HOLLY OSBORNE & SETH GRAVETTE
EMPTY INTO THE ABYSS

ON VIEW THROUGH JUNE
OPENING JUNE 8TH: 5-9PM

@sethgravetteart and @ijustwanttopaintallday live in this world. They see what we see. They know how it goes. They are part of the body that is wounded and sore. Like us they wonder, what is it all for? For them there’s an answer, a duty, a call. To answer the muse, above any and all.

To paint or to carve, the task holds and binds. It belongs to the source, the you from all time, a poem from on high to brighten the line, a glint in the night, the sun rise to shine. The time is so dark, the reasons so clear, painting and carving are all that stays dear.

These two have a drive, it comes from within, to paint all day long, to sculpt not on whim. To focus and blur, to repeat to be sure, this isn’t a one off, it’s purposed and pure. Creation is like that, a tap that unturns, a flow that won’t stop, a need that will burn. To make what one sees, or maybe the heart, to layer and shape, to paint without stop.

This isn’t their choice, nor is it ours, to be the vessel, of which everything pours, onto the page, the canvas, the blank, to open the flood, to open the gate. Here they see, through a squint, here they think, here they make. The proof is in wood, the proof is in paint, the proof is in doing, without hesitate.

They don’t ask for our favor, they do as they’re told, this isn’t for us, this is for the world. An ode and a mourn, for all that’s been shown, to know that we suffer the second we’re born. To paint and to sculpt, that which is near, the garden next door, a single big tree. They take through their senses, the muse is their breath, their hands, their consensus. On this they are joined, the daughter and son. Two people who serve the needs of the one.Join us in witnessing the work that was required. Two artists answering the call. Pick it up at Good Wood, on July 8th, 5-9pm
